Our Warranty.

Every job we complete is covered. This page sets out exactly what that cover includes, how long it lasts, and how to claim on it — for repairs, for parts we supply, and for new installations. The same terms are printed at the bottom of every invoice we issue, so the cover that applied to your job is always on your own paperwork.

Repairs to equipment you already own

Where we repair equipment you already own and the job does not need a new part, the work carries a three-month warranty on labor. If the same fault returns within those three months, we come back and put it right, and the labor is covered.

Repairs where we supply a part

Where the repair includes a part we supply — a receiver, a chain, a backup battery, a safety sensor, and so on — two periods run at the same time:

Three months on the labor. The work we carried out to fit the part.

One year on the part itself. The component we supplied.

If the manufacturer of that part offers its own warranty that runs longer than one year, you are entitled to claim the remainder directly from the manufacturer once our year has ended. Ask us and we will tell you what the part is and what you need in order to make that claim.

New installations

Where we install all-new equipment — a new driveway gate, a new opener, a new garage door — the installation carries a one-year warranty on labor and a one-year warranty on parts.

That sits on top of the manufacturer’s own limited warranty on the unit itself, which is separate from ours and normally runs longer.

The manufacturer’s limited warranty

The warranty on the unit itself is a limited warranty set by the manufacturer, not by us. Its length varies by model, and by whether the unit is installed in a residential or a commercial setting. Some All-O-Matic and LiftMaster gate motors, for example, carry limited warranties ranging from roughly two years up to seven.

Because it varies, we do not quote a single figure. We will tell you what applies to the specific model before you buy it, and the warranty paperwork is supplied with the equipment.

A manufacturer’s parts warranty covers the part only. It does not cover the labor to fit it. That distinction matters, and it is the one customers are most often surprised by, so it is worth reading the next section.

Claiming on the manufacturer

Manufacturer claims are made directly with the manufacturer, using the unit’s serial number and the certificate supplied with it. Keep both somewhere safe — without them a claim is far harder to process.

All-O-Matic

All-O-Matic is based in Van Nuys, so their parts are sourced locally rather than shipped in from across the country.

LiftMaster

LiftMaster parts come through supplier stock. Depending on the part, that commonly takes one to two weeks.

If you would rather not deal with the manufacturer yourself, call us and we will talk you through it.

Claiming on the Silence warranty

Our warranty is printed at the bottom of every invoice we issue, so you always have the terms that applied to your job. To make a claim, contact us by phone, text or email. Tell us the address the work was carried out at and roughly when, and we will find the job in our records.

If you sell the property

The warranty follows the equipment, not the person who paid for it. If you sell the property while cover is still running, the new owner is covered for whatever remains of the period, on providing proof that we carried out the original work. We verify that against our own records.
